Sheila Eckert

Obituary of Sheila Eckert

Sheila Marie Eckert of National Park, NJ, passed away on April 10, 2024.

LEGACY

Sheila was a strong-willed woman with a heart of gold.  She dealt with her long-term illness on her own terms, "The Sheila Way."

Sheila loved to laugh and had a contagious giggle often followed by hiccups! She always greeted everyone with a smile and was a wonderful listener. She enjoyed old sitcoms, especially Seinfeld and Friends.  Almost everything in her life could relate back to a Seinfeld episode and with Friends, she identified most with Joey who did not share chocolate cake because neither did Sheila.

Sheila loved animals, especially dogs, and was a staunch supporter of rescues that were committed to keeping them safe and to getting them the second chances they so deserved.

Sheila looked forward to summer when she was able to spend long hours at the beach or by the pool.

Sheila was a caring, compassionate, and gentle soul. These are the qualities we will remember and forever miss. She was so loved by all who knew her.

FAMILY

Sheila is survived by her loving sister, Cheryl DeCaesar, and brother-in-law, Mark. Predeceased by mother, Claire Eckert (nee Mirra) and father, Vincent Eckert. Loving aunts, Loretta Simeone and Ellie Clapier, and many cousins and friends.
