Obituary of Robert L. Purden, Jr.

Robert "Bob" L. Purden, Jr., 87, of West Deptford, New Jersey, and formerly of Gloucester City, NJ passed away peacefully with family on Saturday, March 9, 2024.

Legacy

He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was a proud member of the United States Army serving in Korea. A member of the Knights of Columbus as a 4th Degree and he was a member of the 3rd Order Dominicans at St. Mary's Church in Gloucester City, NJ. He was a very devoted catholic with a strong faith. Bob loved to watch his fighting Phils.

Family

He is the beloved husband of Mary Elizabeth Purden, (nee Pelletier). Devoted father of Tara McManus (Tim) and the late William J Purden. Adored grandfather of Matthew, Cheryl, Tim, Ethan, and Kiera. Son of the late Marguerite P (nee Paxson) and late Robert L Purden, Sr. Dear brother of Elsie (late Dave), Marge (Tony), late James (late Joyce), and brother-in-law to George (Amy), Robert (Jane), Rick (Elise), Teresa (Tony), Janet (Jim), Rose (Mike), and Joe (Cindi). He will be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.

Farewell Tribute

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Monday, March 18th from 9:00AM to 10:15AM in the McGuinness Funeral Home - (Woodbury Location), 34 Hunter Street, Woodbury, NJ 08096. Funeral Mass at 11:00AM in the Holy Angels Parish at St. Patrick's RC Church 86 Cooper Street, Woodbury New Jersey. Interment to Follow in New St. Mary's Cemetery Bellmawr, New Jersey.
