Obituary of Joan Cordner

Joan Cordner, (nee Morton)of Mount Ephraim, New Jersey; formerly of Fairview and Oak Valley passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, December 27, 2023. She was 86.

Legacy

Joan was born in West Collingswood in 1937. She attended St. Joan of Arc, Camden from 1st to 8th grade, graduating in 1951. Following St. Joan of Arc, she attended Camden Catholic High School, graduating in 1955 and entering the work force, working for Warren Webster. In 1958, she married Sam and had 4 children. Family was most important to Joan. She loved spending time with them, whether it was with her siblings, children, grandchildren or her great grandchild. She really enjoyed those times, either sharing a meal, playing dominoes, gathering to celebrate a special occasion or a holiday or just at home spending time with them.

A close second to her family, was her love for the Philadelphia Phillies. She was an avid fan! Joan loved to watch, as well as listen to the Phighting Phil’s. If she couldn’t be there in person, she was in front of a TV or radio or both at the same time. It didn’t matter if they were in the basement or in the attic, she watched/listened…the Phil’s were her team!

Not only was Joan a member of the Phillies Phan club, she was a member of the Class of 1955 Reunion Committee. She enjoyed getting together to plan them and enjoyed attending the reunions even more! Rounding out her full life was gathering with her friends from Fairview to either play Bingo or celebrate each other’s birthdays. She loved it all…family, friends and of course her beloved Phils! She will truly be missed by all!
