Obituary of Angelo E Silineo

Angelo E Silineo, of National Park, New Jersey, passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2023. He was 92. Legacy Angelo was born to Angelo and Marguerite Silineo on January 11, 1931. He will be fondly remembered as a Renaissance Man who excelled in everything he did. He was an artist, athlete, entrepreneur, preacher and teacher. Angelo approached his work with a humble heart and with love, He was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. Angelo graduated from South Philadelphia High School in 1948 at the top of his class and designed the official class pin for his graduation. He earned his teaching certificate from Gloucester County Community College which is now Rowan College of South Jersey. He received his Doctor of Theology from Evangel Christian University in.1999. Angelo was a Korean War Veteran and enlisted in the Air National Guard. He ran the first Conditioning Gym for Pilots and when he was elevated to active duty, Angelo was stationed at Travis Air Force Base and Fairchild Air Force Base in Spokane, WA. Angelo graduated Philadelphia College of Art in 1965. Later, some of his work was exhibited locally and it mostly depicted children from around the world. He later became Art Director for Jenkins Advertising Agency, Philadelphia during the 1960's and was President of the Art Guild of Philadelphia. Most of his career was spent as a freelance artist focusing on Medical Journals. Later in life, Angelo became a Commercial Art Teacher at Cape May County Vo-Tech School where he and his class provided art work for the school yearbooks. He was awarded Teacher of the Year. Away from work, Angelo was an avid Philadelphia Sports fan with a special love for "Indian" Bob Johnson and Steve Van Buren as well as the Philadelphia A's. He was an extraordinary athlete who excelled in baseball throughout the Tri-State area. He was recruited by several local clubs and barnstormed throughout the area. Angelo was the Lord's servant from an early age. He was "born again" in a Storefront Church in South Philadelphia. He was involved at St. Matthew's R. C. Church with his wife for many years. He attended Lambs Road Assembly of God Church and worked closely with the deacons. He attended John 3:16 AG most recently. Angelo and his wife, Phyllis had a Home Church where he broadcast "River of Life" Ministry on a local radio station 1360 AM for many years. He was an ordained minister with the AEGA Ministries and will be dearly remembered as an ecumenical and loving man who wanted to share the news of the Saving Love of Jesus. Family Angelo is predeceased by his wife Phyllis (nee Branca); loving father of Marguerite Silineo and Paula Nepp; proud "Pop" to Jay Stanton, Emily and Rachel Nepp. Farewell Tribute Relatives and friends are invited to attend Angelo's visitation at 12:00PM on Friday in the McGuinness Funeral Home , 34 Hunter Street, Woodbury, where his Funeral Ceremony will follow at 1 PM.
