Andrew Fiordimondo

Obituary of Andrew J. Fiordimondo

Andrew John Fiordimondo of Mantua, NJ, beloved by his family and friends, died peacefully in his sleep in the early hours of Friday June 16, 2023 at the age of 76.

Legacy

Andy was born in 1946 in Audubon, NJ to Anne and Andrew Fiordimondo, Sr. He was the first of five brothers and grew up in West Deptford, NJ. As a young man, he graduated from West Deptford High School and proudly served in the United States Navy. He later continued his dedicated service to his country in the Army National Guard.

Andy started driving a tractor on the family farm at 8 years-old and applied those same skills years later when he became a heavy equipment operator in the construction industry. Andy went on to work as a Chemical Operator for DuPont in Gibbstown, NJ for most of his career. After the plant closed, he moved to Florida where he worked as a Manatee County Water Systems Inspector before suffering a stroke after a medical procedure. He eventually returned home to New Jersey where he lived happily and close to his family and friends. While the stroke slowed him down a bit, Andy recently found himself behind the wheel of heavy machinery once again as he did all those years ago. He assisted his brother Bill with a project by driving a loader and used his cane to manipulate the gas pedal. He was truly a determined man and was always there to lend a helping hand.

Andy was a devout Christian and held Bible study meetings in his home. In addition, he attended weekly services at Living Water Bible Church in Mount Royal, NJ with his brother and sister-in-law, Bruce and Lynette. He also enjoyed watching the Phillies and Eagles games with his sons and spending time with his best friends, Vito and Gene.

Family

Andy is survived by his former spouse, Susanne Briggs, and their two sons Shawn (Melissa) and Michael Fiordimondo; brothers William (Lynn), Bruce (Lynette), and Barry (Gale); and his many loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Andrew Fiordimondo, Sr. and Anne Marie Fiordimondo, nee Moore; and his dear brother Lewis R. Fiordimondo, Sr.
