Obituary of Estelle J. Hoopes

Estelle J. (nee Simpson) Hoopes,  of Williamstown, New Jersey, passed away on Friday, October 28, 2022.  She was 92.
 
Legacy
Born in Baltimore and raised in Philadelphia, Estelle graduated from Olney High School. Throughout her life, Estelle held many different jobs, including telephone operator, nursing assistant, crossing guard and volunteered for the Pennsauken First Aide Squad. Most of all, Estelle was a homemaker and enjoyed raising her children.

Estelle served as the President of the Delaware Gardens Ladies Auxiliary for many years. She was active at Williamstown Methodist Church and loved worshiping with her church family. She enjoyed reading, doing ceramics, going on family camping trips and spending summers in Wildwood with her family creating memories that will be cherished as her legacy.

Estelle's home was always open to family and friends. She was affectionately known as "Mama Hoopes" for her loving, outgoing and caring personality. Some of her greatest days were spent  making memories with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Estelle will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
 
Family
Estelle is the beloved wife of the late Walter A. Hoopes; devoted mother of Debra Bosch (William), Nancy Fink, Diane McLaughlin, and the late Walter Hoopes, Jr.; loving grandmother of Lisa (Craig), Chris (Jen), Ashley (Chris), Jamie, Justin, Shawn (Stacey), Dana and Erin; great grandmother of Landon, Layla, Cora, Luke, Brooke & Cienna; mother in law of Denise and Tom; cherished sister of Barbara Steer. Estelle is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Farewell Ceremony
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Estelle's viewing on Monday, November 7, 2022 after 10 AM in the McGUINNESS FUNERAL HOME, 573 Egg Harbor Road, Washington Twp. where her Funeral Ceremony will follow at 12 Noon. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Nemours Children's Hospital by visiting their website at www.nemours.org/givingtonemours/waystogive/donation
