Virginia D. Idler

September 15, 1937 - July 19, 2022

Virginia (Ginnie) D. Idler (nee Bruce), 84, of National Park, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 surrounded by her family.

Legacy

Born in Camden, New Jersey to the late Howard and Dorothy Bruce, Ginnie was a life-long resident of National Park where she met the love of her life and raised her four boys. In her younger years, she attended Woodbury High School always keeping company with her siblings and good friends.  As the oldest of the Bruce children, Ginnie was an old soul who made sure that she helped her parents and took good care of her sisters and brother.  Ginnie was always a dedicated employee and held a variety of jobs such as working for the American Cyanamid Company, a Tomato Plant, local Drug Store, Tyco, Lazy Boy Furniture and Columbia Records.  Ginnie retired from Gateway Regional High School after working 27 years in the cafeteria. It was there that she touched the lives of many staff members and students - she was everybody's

“Nanny Ginnie”.

Ginnie was always dedicated to her family and friends.  She was a no nonsense kind of woman, but loved with all of her heart. Ginnie had a realness to her like no other, and would be there to help you through anything you needed. In earlier years, Ginnie always looked forward to Friday nights with Ed at the local Army & Navy Union Garrison No 52. She had a love of shopping, gardening, going out to dinner, venturing to the boardwalk, traveling, baking and spending time around the National Park neighborhood.

Family

Ginnie is the beloved wife of the late Edmund F. Idler. Devoted mother to Edmund (Carole), Robert (Eve), William and the late Charles Idler. Cherished Nanny to Jennifer, Charles, Ryan, Renae, Mark, Victoria, Randy, Eric and Destinee. Precious Great Nanny to Bella, Jack, Giada, Adriana, Ryder, Rocco, Alexander, Kaia and Asher. Beloved sister of Janet Kelly, Doris Cochran, and Carol Hansen, and the late Marilyn Donahue and Robert Bruce. Ginnie leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
