Obituary of Barbara Mary Haun

Barbara Mary Opp O’Hara - Haun, 87 of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. Formally of Whitman Square in Washington Township and Williamstown, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 5, 2022.

Legacy

Barbara was a devoted Daughter, Sister, Wife, Mother, Nurse and Friend. A beautiful, strong-willed, committed and dedicated woman to both her family and her career. She raised seven children, while working full time as a nurse and eventually promoted to Director of Nurses at several hospitals and nursing homes. When Barbara finally retired at the age of 82 years old, she was teaching at ASI Career Institute as an instructor in the Nurses’ Aides Certification program. She loved Philadelphia, the Jersey Shore and was an avid sports fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, Phillies and Flyers. A friend to her many pets, especially Minnie and Mickey her cats.

Family

Barbara loved her children without question. She taught her children to be kind, loving, and if they work hard, good things will happen. Loving Mother to Gerald Michael O’Hara, Laura O’Hara-Ahern, Karen O’Hara-DiBeneditto, Patrick O’Hara, Timothy O’Hara, Martin O’Hara, and Sean O’Hara. A loving Grammy to Leslie, Ryan, and Jennifer O’Hara, Timothy, Lauren, and Megan Ahern, Michael, Christopher, and Nina DiBeneditto, Patrick and Marissa O’Hara, Jessica, Timothy, Rachel, Kaitlin, Connor, and Austin O’Hara, Martin, Sean, and Kristine O’Hara. She was a cherished Great Grammy and Gigi to Emily, Michael, Mary, Paul, Ella, Declan, Eliana, Michael C., Ava, Scarlett, Joseph, Natalia, Emma, Mia, and Lillian. A dear aunt to Linda, Edward, Daniel, and Julie Meyers.

She graduated Simon Gratz High School in 1952, Philadelphia General Hospital School of Nursing in 1955, Glassboro State College of NJ with a BA in 1978.  Mom, Grammy, Gigi, Great Grammy will be missed by all who knew her.

Farewell Tribute

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing and memorial service on Saturday, February 19, 2022 from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM in McGuinness Funeral Home-Washington Township Location, 573 Egg Harbor Road, Sewell NJ 08080. Followed by a Funeral Service at 12:00 PM.  Interment will be private by the request of the family.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Shelter of Gloucester County, 1200 N. Delsea Dr. Clayton, NJ 08312-www.animalshelter.org.
