Obituary of Frances M. Sharkey

Frances M. Sharkey (nee Short), a  resident of Turnersville, New Jersey, passed away on Wednesday, September 8, 2021.  She was 84.
 
Legacy
Fran was born and raised in Philadelphia and moved to Glassboro, NJ after marrying her late husband of 50 years, William. They later settled in Washington Twp, where they called home. Bill and Fran loved taking vacations and looked forward to taking cruises over the years. Her family will remember trips to Disney World and trips to the Jersey Shore They created a home where family & friends truly wanted to gather and spend time together.  Sunday night dinners were a staple at the Sharkey family home.  Fran was famous for her Spaghetti & Meatballs and also her favorite eye roast!  Annual Christmas parties & luaus with family and neighbors will be missed by all who knew Fran.

She is the beloved wife of 50 years to the late William J. Sharkey; loving mother of  Julianne Thurber (John), William  Sharkey (Diane), James  Sharkey (Maria), Joseph  Sharkey (Danielle), Patrick  Sharkey (Lisa), John "Jack"  Sharkey( Gerry); loving grandmother of Shawn, Megan, Renee, Colleen, Katelyn, Keli, Wil, Delanie, Brenna, Trevor, Dylan, Tanner, Nick, Aidan, Daniel, Hannah, Hunter, Kevin, & Brian; great grandmother of Tatum, Lily, Kyle, Brandon, Kevin & Lydia.
 
Farewell Tribute
Family & friends are invited to attend a visitation at McGuinness Funeral Home, 573 Egg Harbor Road, Sewell, NJ on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM and again on Wednesday, September 15 from 9:00 AM to 10:15 AM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 362 Ganttown Road, Turnersville, NJ. Interment will take place at St. Bridget's Cemetery, Glassboro, NJ.
