Paul Williams

Obituary of Paul David Williams

On Saturday, August 7, 2021, Paul David Williams, devoted husband of Elaine Kilmartin and father of William “Miller” Williams and Marjorie “MJ” Williams, passed away at the age of 52 from metastatic colorectal cancer at his home in Mantua, NJ.

Paul was born on May 4, 1969 in Camden, NJ to William Williams, Jr and Beverly (Kampmeyer) Williams. He lived in Erial, NJ throughout his childhood. He moved to Philadelphia, PA after graduating from Paul VI High School in Haddonfield, NJ. Paul and Elaine married on October 30, 2004 in Avalon, NJ. They relocated their family from Philadelphia, PA to Mantua, NJ in 2014.

Paul started his career in the entertainment industry at the Walnut Street Theater as a carpenter apprentice. He transitioned into film as a carpenter on Philadelphia and went on to gang boss on 12 Monkeys and construction coordinate on Wide Awake. His last show was on M. Night Shyamalan’s Servant. Paul was a proud member of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) Local 52 upon his death and had previously been a proud member of IATSE Local 8, Local 487, and Local 917. He truly loved his career and the people that he worked with. He was a problem solver on every job and a mentor to an untold number of studio mechanics over the years.

Paul was a convivial people person. Most recently, he enjoyed cooking and entertaining family and friends, watching Marvel movies with his beloved children, relaxing at the beach with his custom beach cart, and coaching women’s flat track roller derby with Philly Roller Derby. In the past, he could be found socializing at the 700, the RUBA, or a concert, throwing an epic New Year’s Eve party, or officiating a friend’s wedding. He was passionate about building, designing, and fixing- and helping people build, design, and fix.

Paul’s life was an outstanding achievement in the field of excellence.
