Obituary of Patricia M Peterson

Patricia M. Peterson (nee O’Kane), 91, of Washington Township, NJ, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving children on August 8, 2021.  She was born on September 4, 1929 in Philadelphia, PA to Samuel and Mary (McCloskey) O’Kane and grew up in Laurel Springs, NJ.  She was a parishioner at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Washington Township, NJ.   

Legacy

“Marty’s” favorite activity was talking with family and friends, whether in person or on the phone, learning what was happening in their lives and offering to help in any way.  She was a loyal fan of the Phillies, Eagles and Sixers.  She enjoyed watching the games and was never shy about offering a critique of the team’s performance during and after each game.
Pat had a strong faith that enriched her life and also the lives around her.  She had a true love of God and Country.  

Family

She is survived by her loving family, including her three children, Larry and wife Laurie Peterson, Tom Peterson, Joanne (Peterson) Schmidt; six grandchildren, Kate, Brett and wife Nicki, Jennifer, Jared, Jacob and Elizabeth; one great grandchild, Bailey; her brother, Samuel and wife Betty Anne, as well as her many wonderful nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Robert Peterson, her sisters, Rosemary O’Kane and Kathryn (O’Kane) Hahn and brother, Stephen O’Kane. 

Farewell Tribute

Family and friends are invited to her visitation on Friday, August 13, 2021 from 10:15am to 11:15am at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 362 Ganttown Road, Sewell, NJ where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30am.  Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery, 2398 Marlton Pike, Cherry Hill, NJ.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Samaritan Hospice, 256 NJ-73, Voorhees Twp., NJ  08043 or samaritannj.org
