Obituary of Howard G. Gwin

Howard G. Gwin (May 16, 1939-May 9, 2021) 81 of Sewell, NJ passed away at home in peace, surrounded by his family.
Howard was born and raised in Woodbury, before moving to Sewell in 1962. He graduated from Woodbury High School in 1957, where he was in the marching band, the stamp club and managed the tennis team. He then worked at Pennock Wholesale Florist, Pennsauken for 40 years. In retirement, he worked at the Harrison Twp. Municipal Building.  Active participation in church was important to him throughout his life: Trinity Evangelical Lutheran, Woodbury, Jefferson United Methodist and finally Trinity United Methodist, Mullica Hill. He loved raising and showing domestic rabbits, received the Distinguished Service Award of the A.R.B.A. after leading the S.J.R.C.B.A. for three decades and helping young 4-Hers learn to care for animals. He was an avid small farmer, growing and freezing food for the winter. Howard loved watching tennis matches, cooking, picnics, dining out and spending time at the shore. He adored his family, was proud of his children and supported them in their various endeavors and enjoyed good times and hearty laughs with his wide circle of friends. 
Howard is survived by his wife of 58 years Susan (nee VerBryck), daughter Patricia (Peter) Duskee, son Christopher and many close friends including Carole Randall and his pen pal of 65 years,  Norma Warburton of Manchester, England.
Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Sunday May 23rd from 12:00PM-2:00PM in the McGuinness Funeral Home, 34 Hunter Street, Woodbury NJ 08096. Funeral Service at 2:00PM.
