Barbara Bordi

Obituary of Barbara Bordi

Barbara Bordi, age 87, a woman of faith, who fervently loved her Lord and her family, departed this world January 12, 2021, quietly slipping into heaven to reunite with loved ones.

Legacy

Born November 16, 1933, in Binghamton, N.Y., and widowed by her husband Ezio’s passing on March 25, 2016, Barbara was the third of four children.  Although her brothers Fred and Bob preceded her in death, she is survived by her sister, Virginia Wright of Tennessee.

A devout Christian, Barbara loved to read the scriptures and enjoyed hosting Bible studies in her home.  Also, a gifted singer, she worshiped in choirs, participated in cantatas, accompanied musicians, performed solos, and entertained nursing home residents to bless others and glorify the name of the Lord.

Not least, Barbara employed her artistic talents as an interior decorator for more than 30 years. With a penchant for originality, she kept clients enamored of her designs. She, herself, was always professional and well-coiffed.  Radiant with style and trending fashions into her 80s, she always matched from head to toe.

Mostly, however, she excelled in hospitality, welcoming everyone and anyone who graced her home and indulging their appetites with all kinds of culinary delights.  Although of Polish and English descent, she mastered the art of Italian cuisine and developed the habit of catering meals fit for an army.  For Barbara, even a four-person dinner party called for a feast… and feast she did, typically serving a choice of several entrees.  Even when the cupboard appeared bare, she could whip up a regal banquet in no time flat.

For Barbara, no task was insurmountable.  This is the woman who, single-handedly, built an enclosed porch, replaced basement steps, hung chandeliers, renovated rooms, removed walls, installed plumbing, painted rooms, laid tile and patio bricks, dug ponds, and landscaped yards, among many other things.

Family

Most importantly, she kept the faith, calling upon the name of the Lord all the days of her life.  She is survived by four children, Susie (Fred) Parent of Marlton, Toni (Bill) Buckley of Mullica Hill, Mike (Janis) Bordi of Blackwood, and Ed (Linda) Bordi of Westmont; 13 grandchildren, Fred (Sara) Parent, Chrissy (Scott) Hahn, Bob Parent, Nicole Parent (Mike Engel), Dawn (Brandon) Sharpsteen, Lisa (Steven) Naylor, Brian McGroarty (Annamae Young), Emily Buckley, Jeff (Lauren) Bordi, Ryan Bordi, Matt Bordi, Sam Bordi, and predeceased by Kimberly (Mike) Bell; 16 great grandchildren; one great, great grandchild; among many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
