Obituary of John J. McConnell

John J. McConnell, Jr., age 75, of Westville Grove, NJ joined his wife in Heaven, exactly 6 months later on August 5, 2015. Legacy John, sometimes known as Skippy, Turtle, or Pudge, was born and raised in New Sharon, NJ and later moved to Westville Grove where he began his family with Midge. He was a hardworking family man and provider who dedicated many years as a truck driver and mechanic for Dixon Motor Freight and as a diesel mechanic for Erdner Bros. He was a former member of the Tacoma Fire Co. and also enjoyed the challenge of fishing and the joy of watching his grandson play Little League Baseball. John proudly cheered on the Eagles and Flyers to victory, and also loved watching Blue Bloods, Diners, Drive Ins & Dives, and Family Feud. Family Beloved husband of 54 years to the late Joan 'Midge' (Riley); Devoted father of Joan M., Carol A., and John J. III (Christine); Cherished "Pop" of John J. IV and Nicole M.; Treasured Pet Dad to Pepi; Loving son of the late Gretta and John J. Sr.; Dear brother to Joseph and the late Gretta and Dolores.
