Obituary of Helen M. Vallee

Helen Marie Vallee nee Bowe, of Woodbury on November 19, 2003. Aged 83 years. Helen was born July 27th, 1920 in Gloucester City. She was raised in nearby Mullica Hill and at the age of 20 married Arthur Vallee of Gibbstown. Mrs Vallee and her husband, Arthur operated the Vallee & Bowe Cadillac-Oldsmobile automobile dealership. She was instrumental in the groundbreaking design of the dealership?s showroom. Helen was a former member of both the 4H and Women?s Club of Mullica Hill. Helen also donated her time for the local Cub Scout Troop. She was a great lover of the arts; serving as vice-president of the Philadelphia Grand Opera Company. A modest woman, not many people know that Helen modeled for the John Wanamaker Co. in 1945. During the 1950s, she was a four time recipient of the ?Best Bonnet? Award in the Atlantic City Easter parade. Helen is remembered for her love of gardening, cooking, crafts and her brilliant Irish sense of humor and her tireless dedication to her family and her community. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Arthur. Devoted mother to Joseph and his wife, Shirley.
