Begich, Edward A. of Williamstown, NJ on January 8, 2004. Age 75 years. Beloved husband for 50 years of Brenda Nee Ricca. Devoted father of Deborah Goetz and Barbara Begich-Powell and father-in-law to Dan Goetz and Thomas Powell; loving grandfather of Nick Goetz and Tommy Powell; special canine buddies, Ziggy and Taco, all of Marlton, NJ. Dear brother of Mary Savich of Merchantville, NJ, and William Begich of LaMesa, CA. Born and raised in Camden, NJ, Ed was a 42 year resident of Woodlynne. In 1949, Ed signed a major league contract with the National Association of Professional Baseball Leagues to pitch for the St. Louis Browns Baseball Club, until he was called to duty by the Army during the Korean War. During his Army tour in Europe, he used his professional baseball talent to entertain the troops. He worked for Pemberton Fabrication for more than 30 years, retiring as Shop Foreman in 1994. In his spare time, Ed enjoyed memberships with the American Legion Post 274 in Camden, the Croatian Fraternal Order and the Holiday City Residents Club. Ed also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends talking about the ?good old days?. He will be remembered as a loving , honest, hard working man who cared for and spoke highly of everyone he encountered in his life. Viewing Monday 9 to 11:15 AM in the McGUINNESS WASHINGTON TWP.
