Obituary of Joseph Rodgers

RODGERS?Joseph, a 40 year resident of Deptford, went home on Feb. 16, 2004. Aged 90 years. Born in Germantown, PA, the son of Mary nee McCough and Joseph Rodgers, who were both from Corti Castle, Lower Garden, Ireland. Prior to retirement in 1978, Joseph worked as a welder for Westinghouse, Lester, PA for 40 years. During WWII, he took pride in being part of the work force that helped America win the war. In his early years, he became interested in mathematics & airplanes. He continued with his interest in math well into his later years of life. Joe was a democratic committeeman of the first district, Deptford Twp for 25 years. In his spare time Joe enjoyed skeet shooting, traveling and spending time in Atlantic City. He is the beloved husband of 57 years to Margaret F. nee Jones, loving and devoted father of Joseph & his wife Marie of SC, Eileen & her husband Don of Deptford, Frank & his wife Diane of Mullica Hill and Bernie & his wife Nancy of Washington Twp., dear grandfather of Stephanie, Joette, Gina Maria, Mary Francis & Nicole & step grandfather of Wayne & Kristine Kincaid and Kitina Sheehan, great grandfather to several. Funeral Mass Fri. 10:00 AM in St. John Vianney RC Church, 2901 Good Intent Rd., Blackwood Terrace where friends may call from 9:00-9:45AM. Interment will be private.
