Obituary of Chester J. Rickards

Rickards, Chester J. on April 1, 2004 in Friends Home at Woodstown, age 92, formerly of Millsboro, DE. Predeceasesd by his wife of 63 years Julia Mae and a son David. Chester worked on tugboats on the Delaware River, Port of Philadelphia, with Taylor & Anderson Towing Company from 1929 to 1942. He retired as Captain after working with Independent Towing Company from 1942 to 1976. Chester is survived by his son Gene and daughter in law Bernice of Manuta, 7 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren. Chester was cared for and loved by the staff of the Friends Home of Woodstown for the last four years. The family is very grateful to them. Interment will be at Millsboro Cemetery, Millsboro, DE on Monday following a graveside service at 2 PM.
