Obituary of Raymond E. Kent

KENT, Raymond E. of Mt. Royal died on April 18, 2004 at his son?s home after a lengthy illness. Aged 87 years. Mr. Kent served in the US Army as a Sergeant during World War II and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was one of the founders of the Mt. Royal VFW Post and served as Post Commander for several years . Before retiring, Mr. Kent was a superintendent for Driscoll, Inc. in Phila., PA, where he oversaw the construction of high rise buildings. For many years, he was an active member of St. Patrick?s RC Church in Woodbury. In his spare time, Mr. Kent enjoyed boating and fishing on the Bohemia River in Maryland, throwing horseshoes, and watching John Wayne movies. He was also an experienced carpenter, who built his own home in 1955. Mr. Kent will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather, who enjoyed spending time with his family. Devoted husband of the late Margaret Nee Grosko . Devoted father of Ronald Sue of Sussex, Michael Vicki of Mt. Royal, Bruce Debbie of Mickleton, and the late Raymond Joan of Mt. Royal.
