Obituary of Donald G. Martz

MARTZ, Donald G. , 78, of Runnemede, died at his home on June 24, 2004, following a brief illness. Born in Gordon, PA, Mr. Martz lived in Scranton, PA, prior to moving to Runnemede, NJ over 30 years ago. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines serving during World War II. Before retiring in 1986, Mr. Martz worked as a Contract Administrator for the Defense Department of the U.S. Government for 24 years in Phila., PA, and Camden and Moorestown, NJ. He was a life member of the VFW Post #3324 in Runnemede. He was also active for many years with Boy Scout Troop #117 in Runnemede, where he served as a Boy Scouts Trustee Committeeman. In his spare time, he enjoyed going to the shore, fishing, traveling and spending time with family. Mr. Martz was also accomplished at carving wood ducks and birds and was handy with tools. He will be remembered as a very moral and kind person with a quiet inner strength. Beloved husband of Gwen Nee Boyce. Devoted father of Robert Martz Cathy of Durham, NC, and Linda Brodwater Rusty of Jane Lew, WV. Loving grandfather of 8 and great grandfather of 2. Services are private.
