Obituary of Mary Ann Petroski

Petroski, Mary Ann Theresa nee McGovern of National Park, on August 31, 2004 at home surrounded by her loving family. Age 64 years. Devoted wife, mother , teacher and active member of her community, Mary Ann graduated from Gloucester Catholic High School with honors in 1958. She received her BA from Glassboro State College in l977 and her Master?s Degree in Guidance in l984 and her principal certifi cate in l985. Mary Ann graduated Summa Cum Laude and belonged to the Phi Betta Kappa Society. Mary Ann enjoyed teaching in the Gloucester Twp. School District. She was dedicated to St. Matthew?s Church and the choir. Mary Ann?s community activities included the VFW Auxiliary and its Voice of Democracy Program, the Gloucester County Heritage Council, the LAOH, The Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, the Army ?Navy Garrison 52 Auxiliary, and the Postmasters Auxiliary. She was Gateway?s first woman school board member and a National Park Borough Council woman for 15 years. She enjoyed reading, sewing , gardening and conducting tours at the Red Bank Battlefield. Beloved wife of John J. Petroski. Loving mother of Christina Wallace, John Vincent, Dr. Michael Edward and Anthony Fitzgerald Petroski. Dear sister of Kathleen Reed, Vincent McGovern, Robert McGovern, John McGovern, Bernadette Windsor and the late Ellen Horgan. Grandmother of 13. Daughter of Mary Regina nee Bonhage and the late Vincent McGovern. Viewing Friday evening 5 to 8 PM and Saturday 8:45 to 9:45 AM in St. Matthew R. C. Church Fourth and Monument Avenues, National Park, NJ Funeral Mass 10 AM. Interment New Saint Mary?s Cemetery, Bellmawr.
