Obituary of William H. Orr

Orr, William H. Jr., aged 87 of Warrington, PA passed from this life on Sept 22, 2004. A longtime resident of National Park, NJ. Bill was the beloved husband of Lillie Ethel Nee Head Orr. On October 4th they would have been married 63 years. Born at home in East Camden, Bill was the first son of William H. and Emma L. Lowden Orr. He attended Woodrow Wilson High School where he helped the 1938 baseball team to the Suburban League Championship. After high school Bill worked at the Charleston, SC Naval Ship Yard. While in Charleston he met his future wife Ethel Head. After marriage Bill returned to East Camden with his bride and took a job at the New York Naval Ship Yard. He worked on the USS Sante Fe, the ship he would serve on during WWII. Following the war Bill moved his family to National Park. He worked at the Buick agency in Woodbury until his retirement in 1982. Bill was an active member of Gloucester County Democratic Club and served on the National Park Borough Council in the late 1950?s. He maintained his membership in National Park VFW Post 6884 until his death. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a brother, Charles Robert Orr and a sister, Patricia Ruth DeLuca. He is survived and will be greatly missed by his wife, Ethel, two daughters, Emma Lou Abdul Sheikh, of Trumansburg, NY and Marjorie O. Wayne Bullock of Warrington, PA, six grandchildren Lara Carlos Beltran Sheikh, Sara &, Rabia Sheikh, Zachary Bullock, Noah Bullock Benjamin Bullock and two great grandchildren Massoud Sheikh and Claudia Beltran.
