Obituary of Robert McGuinness

Robert McGuinness, 90 of Woodbury and Medford Lakes died Friday in the Underwood-Memorial Hospital. Husband of the late Edith nee Costello. Father of Robert W. McGuinness & his wife, Marge and Maureen Peters & her husband, Mike. Grandfather of Nancy & Chris Toppi, Kathleen & Jeffrey Panciera, Michael & Kristy Peters, Matthew Peters and Marandia Peters Greatgrandfather of Rachal, & Ryan Toppi and Jeffrey & Emily Panciera. Brother of Mary Holt and James McGuinness. Bob was born in Philadelphia. He was a graduate of Camden Catholic High School. Bob was the first high school tri-county golf champion. He married Edie in 1940. He worked as an Operator for Mobil Oil in Paulsboro for 40 years until his retirement in 1980. He was an avid golfer and a fixture at Medford Lakes Country Club for decades. He was the club champion in 1958. After his retirement, he was the starter at Medford Lakes C.C. Bob will always be remembered for his love of family and his wonderful accuracy with a golf ball. A viewing will be held from 6-8 PM Tuesday in the McGuinness Funeral Home 34 Hunter St. Woodbury. Lifetime Tribute Services will begin at 8:00PM Tuesday.
