Obituary of Robert Rowbotham

Rowbotham, Robert of Sewell, NJ on November 2, 2004. Aged 82. Robert was born in, England and came to the United States when he was 1 year old. He had a proud career spanning 26 years with the U.S. Navy and served on Minesweepers during WWII and in the Reserves. He worked at DuPont, Kearney, NJ as a Chemical Mixer and also worked as a Clerk and Mail Carrier for United States Postal Service in Cranford, NJ for 25 years. In his spare time, Robert enjoyed fishing, crabbing, carving wooden decoys and volunteering for the Boy Scouts and Maritime Museum in North Carolina. He will be remembered as a loving devoted father and husband who held God and Country in high regard. He is survived by his loving wife Gertrude nee Walters, dear father of Robert, Wayne, Kenneth and Donald, grandfather of 9 and great-grandfather of 1. Viewing Saturday from 11:00 AM -1:00 P.M. in the McGuinness Funeral Home Washington Twp., 573 Egg Harbor Road, Sewell Wash.Twp. Funeral Service at 1:00 P.M. in the funeral home. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations made to the Shriner?s Hospital, 3551 North Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA 19140.
