McELROY ? THOMAS of Erial, NJ formerly of Phila. on Nov. 8, 2004. Aged 70 years. Beloved husband of Madeline A. nee Molan, devoted father of Kathleen Anthony Paonessa, Susan Robert Ash, Thomas, Jr. Amy, loving grandfather of Kayla Paonessa & Madeline Ash and step-grandfather to Bobby & Ryan Ash. After 2 World tours in the US Navy, Thomas served as a Philadelphia Police Officer for 25 years. He then worked for the Department of Defense Police Dept. & Criminal Investigation Division at the US Naval Shipyard, Phila. for 16 years before retiring. In his refusal to retire completely, Tom worked as a security manager for a number of years until shortly before his death. Funeral service Sat. 11 AM in the McGuinness Washington Twp. Funeral Home, 573 Egg Harbor Rd., Washington Twp., NJ where friends may call after 9 AM. Interment SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
