KOLASA, Sophie H. Nee Kwiatkowski of North Cape May, on November 12, Aged 89 years. Born in Camden on November 8, 1915, Sophie?s father went back to Poland, leaving his family in the United States. When Sophie was 5, her mother died in the United States and she was adopted by her Aunt Stella and Uncle John Rybicki. Her sister, Kathryn, was adopted by another aunt. John and Stella Rybicki had 3 children, Jennie, Edward, and Henry, who became Sophie?s siblings. In 1940, Sophie married Louis Kolasa and they moved to a row house in Camden. She had her daughter, Loretta, in 1942. Sophie worked as a waitress and later as a cashier at the RCA Lunch Club. She retired in 1971 and moved to North Cape May with Louis. In her spare time, Sophie liked baking and cooking, gardening and flowers, and spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing cards and collecting stamps. Sophie spent her last year with her daughter in West Deptford. Beloved wife for 59 years of the late Louis F. Devoted mother of Loretta Colanero Joe. Loving grandmother of Catherine Gabriel Neil, Ann Hartmann, and Jim Colanero and great grandmother of Justin and Tyler. Dear sister of Jennie Rybicki and the late Edward and Henry Rybicki and Kathryn Wright. Loving daughter of the late Stella and John Rybicki. Viewing WED. 10 to 11 A.M. in St. Patrick?s RC Church, Euclid and Cooper Sts., Woodbury. Funeral Mass 11 A.M. in the church. Interment St. Joseph?s Cemetery, Chews Landing.
