Obituary of Thomas G. Donahue

DONAHUE, Thomas G. of Washington Twp., NJ, on November 28, 2004. Aged 80 years. As a young man, Mr. Donahue was part of the CCC Camps during the Depression, where he helped build roadways such as Skyline Drive in Virginia and national parks. He later became an Amateur boxer and never lost a fight. Mr. Donahue was a U.S. Army veteran serving during World War II and Korean Conflict. Beginning in 1978, he was an aide to the King of Albania for 15 years. For over 15 years, he worked as a Practical Nurse at Friends Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. Mr. Donahue was also the Manager and Owner of NCC Nursing Services and Western Temporary Services in Northeast Philadelphia. Mr. Donahue was President of the Washington Twp. Senior Advisory Council from 1995 to 2000. In recent years, he was very proud of the success of the Washington Twp. Senior Center, greatly due to his personal involvement and dedication. In his spare time, Mr. Donahue enjoyed spending time with his family and watching football, especially the Eagles. He also enjoyed dancing and Big Band music. At one time, Mr. Donahue had his own talk radio program. He will be remembered as a tough man with a generous and kind heart. Mr. Donahue enjoyed sharing stories of his favorite memories of days gone by. Beloved husband of the late Helen Steele and the late Anna Nee Suli. Devoted father of Lorraine Irby, Thomas, Jr., Francis, James, Nancy Fogarty, Ellen Edinger and Susan Boyle. Loving grandfather of 17 and great grandfather of 10. Dear brother of Francis Donahue, Patricia Magee, Mary Brassel, and the late James Donahue and Dennis Leonard. Visitation SAT. 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. in the McGUINNESS WASHINGTON TWP. FUNERAL HOME, 573 Egg Harbor Rd., Sewell, NJ. Memorial Service SAT. 1 P.M. in the funeral home. Interment private.
