Obituary of Glenn Jay Adams

Glenn J. Adams, 82, died at home in West Deptford Township, N.J. on Friday, Dec. 17, 2004, after a brief illness. Born on Jan. 5, 1922 on a farm in Polk, Pa., Glenn attended local schools and volunteered in the Navy in 1942. He married Dorothy Schuler in 1946 and is survived by Mrs. Adams; six children, Marilynne, Vicki, Glenn Jr., Rosemary, Julie and Patrick; 17 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. After his World War II service, Glenn went to work for RCA in Camden, N.J., where he was involved in the installation of several broadcasting towers in the Philadelphia area. He later worked for RCA computer systems in Cherry Hill, N.J., and in 1972 transferred to Univac in Blue Bell, Pa., from which he retired in 1984. Glenn enjoyed gardening, carpentry, bowling and an occasional game of poker. But his greatest joys were his family and its many summer gatherings around the backyard pool, as he watched a generation of grandchildren come of age. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday in the McGuinness Funeral Home 34 Hunter St. Woodbury. A viewing will begin at 8:30 AM Tuesday in the funeral home. Interment Gloucester Co.
