Obituary of Joseph Tierno

Joseph Tierno, 80, of West Deptford on December 18, 2004. Brother of John and Ralph Tierno. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Mr. Tierno was born in Philadelphia, PA. and he was a twin to his brother, John. His family moved to South Jersey at an early age. He joined the Army Air Corps and was a veteran of World War II. After the war he joined the merchant marine and traveled all over the world. He retired as the Chief Operating Engineer for the American Trading Co. in Baltimore. Mr. Tierno is survived by his brothers, John of Allentown, PA and Ralph of Carlisle, PA. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews who cared for him deeply Following his retirement, he moved to West Deptford. He enjoyed fishing in the Delaware Bay; crossword puzzles and gardening. Mr. Tierno was a quiet man who will always be remembered for his generosity. A viewing will be held on Tuesday from 9-10:30 AM in the McGuinness Funeral Home 34 Hunter St. Woodbury. Mass of Ressurection will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Thursday in St. Margaret?s RC Church 3rd & Beech Woodbury Hts. Interment St. Joseph?s Cemetery Swedesboro.
