Obituary of Dan Centurione

Dan Centurione, 92, of Mantua, died Wednesday July 10, 2005 in Underwood Hospital. Dan was born in Philadelphia. He was a veteran of the US Army Air Corps. He served in Panama from 1934-36 as a test mechanic. After his service, he returned to the Philadelphia area for the Department of Defense in Aircraft maintenance and later in the experimental department of the Philadelphia Navy Yard. After his retirement from the Navy Yard, he worked for Paparone Realty and the Westwood Golf Club. He was a former member of the Mt. Ephraim Police Reserve and he was active in the Mt. Ephraim Little League and the Knights of Columbus. Dan had a special love of animals and he enjoyed his time golfing. Dan is survived by his wife of 65 years, Anna C. nee DeFrancesco; sons Daniel of Roswell, GA and Richard of Ringwood, NJ and a daughter, Linda Toretsky. Grandfather of 6. Greatgrandfather of 3. Brother of Anthony and Carty Centurione. A viewing will begin at 10:00 AM Monday in the Church of the Incarnation Main Street Mantua. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Monday.
