DOUGHERTY, William R., Sr., of Deptford, formerly of Philadelphia, on September 21, 2005. Aged 72 years. Born and raised in Philadelphia, Willie had resided in Deptford since 1968. Before retiring in 1996, he was a mechanic for Mister Softee in Philadelphia and also in Runnemede. Willie was a dedicated and loyal employee to Mister Softee for over 40 years. In his spare time, Willie enjoyed watching the Philadelphia sports teams and Nascar and reading the newspaper from top to bottom. His greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with his grandchildren and family. Beloved husband for 46 years of Patricia Nee Painter. Devoted father of Patty Ann Pete Nickel, William, Jr. Dawn, Thomas Louise, Kelly Ann John Cooper, Brian Christine, and Raymond. Loving grandfather of Rebecca, Rachel, Thomas, Jr., Kelli, John, Brooke, Brianna, and Matthew. Dear brother of John, Anna Green, and the late Frank and Richard Dougherty.
