Obituary of Michael J. Murray

Michael J. Murray Jr. of West Deptford, NJ went home to God on October 25, 2005. Age 80 years. Born and raised in South Philadelphia, Mike lived in West Deptford since 1962. He was a graduate of Southeast Catholic High School and LaSalle University, where he earned a bachelor?s degree in business administration. He proudly served as a Navy Corpsman in the first Marine Division in World War II. Mike was employed as an accountant for ITE in Philadelphia and various other venues before his retirement in 1990. He was a long-time parishioner at St. Patrick?s Church, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister. He was also a member of the Millay Club of Southeast Catholic, the Men of Malvern and St. Matthew?s Prayer Group. He volunteered at St. John of God. Mike will be remembered as a loving man who was devoted to God and his family. He enjoyed watching baseball, Mummers parades, reading and going to the shore. Predeceased by his beloved wife, Marcella C. nee Crowley, brother Jack Murray, sister Kathleen Potter and sister-in-law Mary C. Dixon. Devoted father of Michael III, Joseph Judi, Brian Sharon and Stephen Stephanie Murray; loving grandfather of Eric, Samantha, Christopher and Ryan Murray and Tina McElree; great grandfather of Jack McElree. Brother-in-law of Joseph Carole and William Geraldine Crowley and Mary E. Murray. He will also be missed by numerous loving cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Viewing will be held Friday, October 28th, from 6:30 to 9 pm and Saturday, October 29th at 8:30 am in the McGuinness Funeral Home, 34 Hunter Street, Woodbury, NJ. Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, October 29th at 10 am at St. Patrick?s RC Church, Euclid & Cooper Streets, Woodbury NJ. Interment New St. Mary?s Cemetery, Bellmawr, NJ.
