MacAdams?Edwin J. of Sewell on March 3, 2006. Aged 80 years. Born March 16, 1925 in Camden, NJ, Ed was a graduate of Woobury High class of ?42. At age 16 he went to work with RM Hollingshead Corp. Ed joined the US Navy in 1943, served in the Asiatic Pacific as a torpedo-man 2nd class and was discharged in February of 1946. In March of that same year Ed joined the NJ Army National Guard, attaining the rank of Master Sergeant and Battalion Operations Sergeant, retiring in 1985. Following his military service, Ed worked in construction industry in many crafts. He retired E.I. Dupont in 1984 as rigger first class with 20 years of service. Ed had his own tax preparation business for many years. He was a longtime member of the VFW Post #6884 National Park. He is the beloved husband of the late Eleanor nee Sarlo, devoted father of Lyle A. Gray & his wife Pam and Deborah DiPierro & her husband Anthony, Jr., dear brother of Charles, Eugene ?Jeep? & Horace and the late Joseph & Reynolds, loving grandfather of Anthony, Jr., Nicole & Reneë. Viewing Mon 6:30-9 PM and on Tues 8:30-9:15 AM in the McGuinness Funeral Home, 34 Hunter St., Woodbury. Funeral Mass Tues 10 AM in St. Mary RC Church, Gloucester City. Interment Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary?s RC Church, 426 Monmouth St., Gloucester City, NJ 08030.
