Obituary of Phyllis M. Laphen

LAPHEN?Phyllis M. nee Bala of Thorofare suddenly on March 20, 2006. Aged 73 years. She is the beloved mother of Lisa N. Laphen, Kevin L. Lisa Laphen and Stephanie Michael Hollander. Grandma Phyllis of Paige, Lauren, John, Ava, Luke and Sam. Dear sister of Stephanie, Mary, Josephine John and the late Helen & Edward. Born on August 9, 1932 in Johnstown, Pa; Phyllis later moved to South Jersey and was employed as a teller at the now Bank of America on Egg Harbor Rd. for over 15 years. Her customers were greeted by name as familiar friends with a hearty voice, warm smile and a funny story or two. In her spare time, Phyllis enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, cooking reading and going to the casinos. Phyllis will be remembered as a colorful character who always placed others needs before her own. Viewing Thurs. 6-8 PM and on Fri. 8:30-9:15 in the McGUINNESS FUNERAL HOME, 573 Egg Harbor Rd., Washington Twp. Funeral Mass 10 AM in SS. Peter and Paul RC Church, Washington Twp.
