Dear Val,
I was so saddened to hear that your mother had passed away last week. She was truly a sweet, kind, and classy lady. I had the pleasure of meeting Fran back in the 80s when she used to go on her regular walks past my house in Woodbury Hts. We had many long chats about our families, her crafts and things going on in Woodbury Hts. Fran and I have exchanged Christmas cards with little notes for the past 25 years. She never missed until this year, and I thought perhaps her health had declined. I saw her last summer at the Woodbury Farmers Market and we got to spend a little time together catching up. She still looked so beautiful to me. Fran was always interested in what Sean was doing in Special Olympics and never missed mentioning him in her Christmas card.
My heartfelt sympathy to your family and I pray that your wonderful memories will sustain you through this difficult time.
I will miss Fran's beautiful smile and graciousness.
Warm Regards,
Cindy Silver Kern & Family

To the Family of Frances Haen,
I was fortunate enough to meet Mrs. Haen through a mutual friend, Mrs. Edna Reed. I worked on her cars for about 15 years. Whenever I worked on her car, we would always talk about our homes, families, and especially our pets. I did not just consider Mrs. Haen a customer, but also a friend. She was a very nice person and will be greatly missed.

Family of Frances T. Haen,
Fran was a big walker, I was a runner, our paths crossed frequently enough, that we became friends. Even though we did not know each other very well, we supported each others efforts, we learned to know each other well enough to discuss the physical aliments that might be keeping us off the road, slowing us down, or we might be successfully recovering from walker/runner talk. Fran looked for a wave from me when she walked by and I was mowing my lawn, and I would look for a wave from Fran as I ran by her house and she was out working on her yard. We always looked forward to a friendly exchange about our walking/running on Election Day as I cast my vote at the borough hall.
We actually had little in common, but I will always think of Fran when I run past the house, or step in to cast my ballot.
I guess my point is, Fran was a warm and friendly person, and she will be sadly missed by her community.
My deepest sympathies to Fran?s family friends, she was a very special lady.

Dear Val, Jen and Lucas:
Please accept my condolences on the passing of your mother, grandmother and great grandmother. I appreciated Fran's warmth, prayers and concern for me. Our exchange of cards and letters over the past years provided joy and reassurance. She is now in Our Lord's confort and care. May you be conforted in that knowledge. Much love and prayers, Isabel
