Obituary of Kenneth R. Mullin

MULLIN? Kenneth R. of Mantua, NJ on June 7, 2006. Ken was born in Upper Darby, PA to the late Marion nee Schick and Byron Mullin. After graduating West Chester University with his B.A. in Biology, he was drafted by the US Navy during the Vietnam War and served in Japan as a hospital corpsman. After being discharged, Ken returned to West Chester University to further his education and obtained 2 Master Degrees in Education. In the late 1970?s, he secured a job at the Hospital of the University of PA School of Veterinary Medicine?s medical records department; it was while working there a student by the name of Nina caught his eye, became the love of his life and they married. Ken then taught at Gwynedd-Mercy College, Bryn Mawr for a short while. He received a BA from Temple in Health Information Management and secured a position with Underwood-Memorial Hospital -where he worked until his recent disability- as a Certified Tumor Registrar. Ken will be remembered as a prolific and talented writer; who started his own literary magazine. He enjoyed photography and gardening. Ken was a man who loved life and lived every day with humor and gratitude. He is the beloved husband of 17 years to Nina R. Beyer, V.M.D., loving brother of Richard Mullin. Ken is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends. Relatives, friends and fellow employees of Underwood-Memorial Hospital are invited to celebrate 63 great years on Tues. at a visitation from 6:00-7:45 PM and his Memorial Service and Lifetime Tribute at 8 PM in the MCGUINNESS FUNERAL HOME, 573 Egg Harbor Rd., Sewell Washington Twp.
