Obituary of Melvin O. Rutter

RUTTER, Melvin O. ?Mel?, of Bellmawr, passed away on July 3, 2006. Age 87 years. Born in Merchantville, NJ, Mel was a resident of Bellmawr for 51 years. Mel was an honorary member of the Bellmawr Little League as well as past president, coach and manager. He was also a Navy Veteran during World War II and was a member of the VFW in Bellmawr, Crescent Park Post #9563 and Past Post Commander in Westville Grove Post #2174. Prior to retiring in 1971, Mel was a supervisor with Shop 11 at the Philadelphia Naval Yard. In his spare time, Mel enjoyed fishing where he was a member of the Jersey Devils Surf Fishing Club, taking care of his lawn and his vegetable garden, especially his tomato and bell pepper plants. Mel will be remembered as a very helpful, skillful craftsman who was devoted to his family. Beloved Husband of 65 years to Loretta F. nee Stoner Devoted Father of Shirley and her husband Frank Parisi, Joe Rutter and his wife, Diane, Harry Bud Rutter and his wife Pat, and Gary Rutter and his wife, Sharon, Loving Grandfather of Teresa Lusardi, Frank Parisi Karen, Michael Parisi Anita, Lori McGlinchey John, Shawn Rutter Anne, Jason Rutter Nicole, Tricia Lippincott Michael, Colleen Carroll Jim, Craig Rutter and Brandon Rutter Loving Great Grandfather of 17 and 1 great great Grandson; also great grandfather of the late Nicholas J.
