Obituary of Alfred B. Sampson

Sampson, Sr., Alfred B. of Westville, on August 9, 2006. Aged 85 years. Devoted husband and father went peacefully surrounded by family to be with the Lord and Mercedes, his loving wife of 57 years. Born in Winslow Twp. in 1921, he was raised on Sampson Farms then attended Hammonton High School. He joined the US Army in 1946 and received the WWII Victory Medal. While serving in Panama, he met then married his beautiful wife, Mercedes. Their family was raised in Cherry Hill as he worked as partner in the firm Fisher & Sampson Land Surveyor & Civil Engineer until 1984. Upon retiring to Clearwater Fl., he continued his work with Northside Engineering. He was an avid bowler and was a licensed CB Ham Radio Operator. Al leaves behind a loving legacy, 3 daughters, Joy Erceg of Slidell, LA, Lizabeth Frederic McClure of Lake Wales. FL & Linda Jack Phelan of Deptford, NJ & a son Al Linda Sampson, Jr. of Blenheim, NJ 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, two loving sisters Caroline Sam Totora & Shirley Sid Jones of Winslow, NJ & many nieces & nephews. Alfred will be deeply missed but our prayers will abound, now that he is walking on Heaven?s glorious ground. God Bless You & Thank you Dad, Pop-Pop, Great Pop-Pop. Memorial Mass Saturday , August 19 at 11 AM in St. Patrick?s R.C. Church, Woodbury, where relatives & friends may call at 10 AM All are invited to celebrate & rejoice in Alfred?s life with us. Interment will be private.
