Obituary of Charles H. Herneker

HERNEKER, Charles H. ?Yock? of Thorofare on August 14, 2006. Aged 92 years. Born in Philadelphia, Charles was a longtime resident of Thorofare. Before retiring, he was an auto mechanic for Carter Lincoln Mercury in Woodbury for 23 years. Charles was a talented accordion player, who was a member of the Hi-Lites for many years. He was also a member of the Gloucester City Old Timers, the Durning String Band, the Garden State String Band and the Broomall String Band. Charles was proud to have been named ?Man of the Year? for the Gloucester City Old Timers in 2003. He enjoyed visiting with friends and having lunch at the West Deptford Senior Center. Charles treasured spending time with his family. He will be remembered for his easy going spirit and passion for music and was well liked by all who met him. Beloved husband of the late Dorothy Nee Wren. Devoted father of Charles Diane and Dorothy Herneker. Loving grandfather of Amy O?Malley and Steven and Marianne Herneker and great grandfather of Nicholas and Elliott Herneker and Emily O?Malley. Dear brother of Eleanor Thorpe.
