Obituary of Ellen W. Sheilds

Sheilds, Ellen nee Tucker 51, of Gibbstown, NJ, left to be with the Lord, peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family on August 17, 2006 after fighting a courageous battle against Pulmonary Fibrosis. Born in North Tonawanda, New York on February 14, moved to California and then to New Jersey. She was a graduate of Kennedy High School in Willingboro, NJ class of 1973. She received her nursing degree at Gloucester County College and spent many years tenderly caring for her elderly patients. She eventually settled in Gibbstown where she spent her final years. In her spare time she enjoyed many things, including family, quilting, and the arts. Quilting was a very important part of her life and she loved to share her passion for others with the beautiful quilts she designed. She also loved to cook and bake her Grandma?s recipes as well as her own that she collected over the years. She enjoyed the many vacations spent with her husband of twelve years, John R,. Sheilds, Sr., daughter, Sarah. She always put others before herself, willing to give and never expecting to receive. Ellen was a wonderful, loving and caring woman who truly was an angel. Her love and friendship will be sadly missed. She is survived by her husband of twelve years, John R. Sheilds, Sr., daughter , Sarah, who is one of her proudest accomplishments; mother, Joan; Brother, David; sister-in-law, Sheri and their children. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Monday 12 PM in the McGUINNESS FUNERAL HOME, 34 Hunter St., Woodbury, NJ 08096 followed by Funeral Service at 2PM.
