Obituary of Dawn M. Fink

FINK, DAWN M. nee D?Aversa of Sicklerville, NJ formerly of Springfield, PA, passed away suddenly on August 19, 2006 at her home. Aged 47 years. Born on June 26, 1959 in Philadelphia, PA, Dawn courageously faced cancer at age 3, when she was diagnosed with bilateral Wilm?s tumors, which at that time had a 100% mortality rate. She underwent extensive experimental radiation and chemotherapy and was the first child ever cured of this type of cancer. Her case was documented in the New England Journal of Medicine. Dawn went on to attend Good Shepherd Catholic grade school; she graduated from West Catholic High School in 1977. She worked diligently as a medical lab technician for over 25 years. A devoted mother and homemaker, Dawn had a special flair for interior decorating and hospitality. Her many friends relatives and family will miss her kind ways and generosity that she extended to everyone she knew. Dawn is survived by her loving husband of 17 years, Robert H., her son, Robert, parents Anthony and Julia D?Aversa of Glenolden PA and a brother, Anthony of Brigantine. Also survived by many loving cousins, friends and coworkers.
