Obituary of Augustine Mercurio

Mercurio, Jr., Augustine ?Gus? L. of Mantua, NJ on September 27, 2006. Aged 79 years. Born and raised in South Philadelphia until 1962 and then became a longtime resident of Mantua for 44 years. Gus worked for RCA for 42 years. Gus enjoyed Sunday dinners, throwing parties especially his famous New Years Eve Bash. In his spare time , he enjoyed playing the slot machines at the casinos in Atlantic City and listening to Frank Sinatra, Jerry Vale, and Dean Martin. He also made beautiful music playing the accordion and piano. Gus had an appreciation for homemade Italian Red wine, family gatherings, classy cars and lived life to the fullest. Gus will be remembered as a loving, generous man who will be deeply and sadly missed by all. Beloved husband of the late Emily nee Donato Dear brother of James Mercurio, Theresa Mignogna, Maria Geonnetti, and Arthur Mercurio Irene. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews and many loving friends. Viewing SAT 9 to 10:45 A.M. in The Church of the Incarnation, 240 Main Street, Mantua, NJ 08051. Funeral Mass will follow at 11 A.M. Interment New Saint Mary?s Cemetery, Bellmawr, NJ.
