Obituary of William H. Shaffer

Shaffer, William H., Jr. of Runnemede NJ. Died on November 12, 2006 after a valiant battle against brain cancer. Aged 70 years. Born in Philadelphia, PA, Bill was a resident of Runnemede for 43 years. Prior to retiring, Bill drove for Greyhound as well as for various trucking companies and funeral homes. Bill was a United States Marine Corp Veteran of the Korean War serving from 1953?1957. He followed the code of the Marine Corp throughout his life...Honor, Courage and Commitment. He was a member of the Semper Fidelis, Detatchment Marine Corp League and the VFW and American Legion. He will be remembered for his love of his country, the generosity of his soul, his sense of humor and especially the love and sacrifices he made for his children. He loved his family deeply. This time of the year was his favorite. He loved to decorate his house for the holidays, dressing up as Santa and visiting the children in the neighborhood. He would always keep in contact with all of his relatives no matter how far away they were. He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him. Beloved husband of 35 years to Lillian A. nee Cecala Shaffer. Honored father of William Adele, Roger and Alice Bill. Loving Grandfather of Dean, Dawn, William, Jason, Joseph III and Nicole.
