Billington, Allen A. ?Al? husband, father, grandfather, friend and patriot of Glassboro, died peacefully with his family at his side after a long battle with Rheumatoid Arthritis and Parkinson?s Disease on January 12, 2007. Aged 60 years. Al was born in Camden and raised in Pitman. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War and was very proud of his service to his country. After his service time, Al earned his Bachelor?s Degree in Education from Glassboro State College. He began his career teaching math for Pitman High School and then took a job as a Computer Programmer for the State of New Jersey where he worked until retiring 5 years ago. Al lived life to the fullest and among his many pursuits were fishing, playing chess, enjoying the outdoors, tracing family genealogy and studying the Bible. Most of all, Al enjoyed the time shared with his family whom he treasured and was tremendously devoted to. Al will be remembered as an extremely loving, caring, and compassionate man who will be missed by all who truly knew him. Beloved husband of 38 years to Kathleen nee Miller. Devoted father of Melissa David Hamilton and Jennifer Garry Gray. Dear brother of William Carol Billington, Elsie Howard Moore and Jean George Slothower. Loving grandfather of Joshua.
