Obituary of John J. Killeen

Killeen, John J. ?Jack? Jr. age 76 of Mantua, NJ passed peacefully from complications of Parkinsons Disease, at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Upper Darby, PA, Jack was a resident of Mantua for over 50 years. He was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War , serving as a Staff Sergeant from 1949 1951 and was a recipient of the Korean Service Medal with a Bronze Service Star. Prior to retiring in 1980, Jack was a Police Sgt with the Delaware River Port Authority and served as the first patrolman on the Walt Whitman Bridge. Jack was a charter member of the VFW Post 7679 in Mantua since 1961 and the American Legion 305. He was also a member of the 7 Division 17th Infantry Regiment Association. Jack loved to fish, especially if there were no fish or if there was a small craft advisory. He was devoted to his family and be remembered as a simple man, who loved without expecting anything in return. Beloved Husband of Barbara A. nee White of 54 years; Loving father of John and June Killeen of DE, Steve and Alice Killeen of Williamstown, Ken and Sharon Kienholz of Mullica Hill, Barbara Fiume of Mt. Royal and Ed and Gilda Killeen of LaCrescenta, CA; Loving ?Pop Pop? of Ryan, Michael Colleen, Johnny, Danny Killeen, Steven, Jackie, Tyler Killeen, SSgt Michael Kienholz USAF, Airman Brian Kienholz USAF, Matt Kienholz, Dylan Allen, Alyssa and Nicole Fiume, Narineh, Johnathan and Justin Killeen and great grandson, Michael Killeen; Brother of Thomas F. Killeen, Sr. Brother in law of Freda White Scully; predeceased by his parents John J, Sr. and Katherine Killeen and sister K. Theresa Killeen Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews and friends. Viewing on Tuesday, 8:30?10:15 AM at McGuinness Funeral Home, 34 Hunter Street, Woodbury, NJ. Mass on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at the Church of the Incarnation, 234 Shadow Place Rd., Mantua, NJ. Interment Gloucester County Veteran Memorial Cemetery, Williamstown, NJ.
