Obituary of Delbert C. Guilfoy

GUILFOY?Delbert ?Babe? C., Sr. of Deptford, NJ formerly of Woodbury on February 4, 2007. Aged 81 years. Born and raised in Woodbury, New Jersey, Delbert was a resident of Deptford since 1958. Prior to retiring, Babe was employed by Texaco, Inc. in Westville, NJ for over 35 years. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II. In Babe?s earlier years, he coached midget football in Westville and Woodbury. A 1944 Woodbury High School, Babe was a left halfback and captain of the ?Thundering Herd? football team. Babe will be fondly remembered as a well loved and likable man who had a sharp wit. Beloved Husband of the late Pearl nee Karkuff; Devoted Father of Sharon Storey, DelbertGuilfoy, Jr., Michael Guilfoy and Joanna Guilfoy-Curren; Loving grandfather of Lawrence Storey and Matthew Guilfoy and great grandfather of Briana and Laura; Dear brother of John, Leroy, Madeline and Catherine. Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation on Thursday, 6:30?9:00 PM and Friday, 10?11 AM at the McGuinness Funeral Home 34, Hunter Street, Woodbury, NJ where the Funeral Service will follow at 11 AM. Interment New St Mary?s Cemetery, Bellmawr, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 1851 Old Cuthbert Road, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034.
