Three years ago, Bill looked at my entire life and found me worthy of working in the Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office. After getting my entry fob and talking with those who knew him far longer than I, I learned his was a pretty high standard to meet. I'm trying. My condolences to his family. I'm sorry I didn't have the chance to work with him longer.

Our deepest sympathy in your lost; Bill was a great guy that always found the time to go out of his way to just say Hello. I have missed seeing all of you since Gary & Billy have been in high school and don't wrestle against each other anymore. Your family is our thoughts and prayers.

Karen, Billy, Alyssa and Kate,
I had the pleasure of knowing Bill for almost 30 years- all the way back to kindergarten at Oakview School. Always quiet but filled with strength. Our paths crossed again when his son, Billy and my son became good friends. Anyone that knew Bill knew that he was all about family- his love for Karen and his children was so deep. He was such a good person and he will be missed by many. May you take comfort and strength from your many memories and know that God has blessed you, and each one of us by knowing Bill. May He continue to bless and strengthen you at this difficult time. We are so sorry for your loss and all of you will continue to be in our prayers.

Karen, Billy, Alyssa, & Katelyn,
I had the pleasure of going to school with Bill and graduating with him at WDHS in 1981. We were in many classes together and had so much fun. Bill was always quiet and reserved, but his smile and laughter expressed everything he was thinking. Karen, I'll never forget when he met you in high school. He fell so hard for you. We used to kid him all the time about it.
Kevin wrestled with Bill in high school and later coached under him in midget wrestling. Finally, my son at age 10 wanted to wrestle, and Bill was nice enough to let my son join the wrestling team mid season. A lot of coaches would have said no to our request, but Bill was a different person. His first concern was always what was best for the kids. He was happy to see another kid want to join the wrestling program. That was Bill.
I enjoyed my many conversations with Bill over the years, running into him at the soccer fields or at Riverwinds. It would take Bill quite a while to get up the steps to the Riverwinds gym over the last two years. The regulars at the gym admired Bill so much for his perserverance and determination to beat his illness. I think working out helped him both physically and mentally.
He was such a positive person, never having a bad thing to say about anyone. I know how much he loved being a Detective. He worked hard. It must have really hurt him to have to give up his career. Over the years we would exchange words about his job, but mostly about our families, how long we have been out of high school, and how "old" we were getting. We would just laugh. Karen, I have to tell you that Bill would always speak about you and the kids. He was so happy and proud of all of you.
We will all miss Bill. He was a great person. He was a class act and a true gentleman. He will be missed throughout all of West Deptford.
We are thinking about all of you at this most difficult time. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

To the Reichert family, and all those touched by the loss of Bill, our sincere heart felt thoughts and prayers are with you. I had the pleasure of knowing and working with Bill. He was a fine police officer and detective. In later years I had the pleasure of knowing and working in the school his children attend. His children are gems and a testament to what a fine person Bill was. Please gain comfort in the words, "To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord." In HIS love, alex.
