Obituary of Harry L. Scherfel

Scherfel, Harry L., Sr., of Oak Valley, passed away on May 17, 2007; Aged 83 years. Born in Pine Hill, NJ, Harry was a resident of Southwest Philadelphia prior to moving to Oak Valley in 1960. He was an Army Veteran of World War II and a member of the Oak Valley Seniors, Prime Timers and , Masonic Lodge of Laurel Springs. He was also Cub Scouts Chairman of Oak Valley. Prior to retiring in 1989, Harry was a welder and manager at Manganese Steel and Forge in Philadelphia and later, after a merge, Harsco Corp in Easton, PA. After retiring, he worked for Delphi Engineering as a shop foreman. In his spare time, Harry enjoyed model trains, puzzles and watching the Western Channel. He was a strong willed, independent man who always had a joke and tried to make everyone laugh. He will be remembered as a kind and likeable guy who will be sadly missed. Beloved Husband of the late, Doris; Devoted Father of Harry L ?Skip?, Jr. and his wife, Susan and Dennis L. and his wife, Sharon; Loving Grandfather of Jason, Ashley and Erick. Also survived by his beloved cat, Kit. Visitation on Monday, 9:00?10:00 AM at the McGuinness Funeral Home, 34 Hunter Street, Woodbury, NJ where the Funeral Service will follow at 10:00 AM.
