Obituary of Katherine Ifflander

IFFLANDER?Katherine nee Zic of Sickerlville on May 22, 2007. Aged 93 years. Katherine was a loyal homemaker, but was also an active woman who loved to dance, enjoyed bowling and trying her luck with the slots in Atlantic City. Her family will miss her home cooking, especially her sauerkraut and pork; which was a family favorite. Katherine was born in New York City to her parents Anthony and Mary who were Yugoslavian immigrants. Shortly after her birth, her family returned to their homeland with her. At the age of 16, Katherine returned alone to the United States to start a new life. She worked for some time as a governess for a family in Connecticut. It was soon after that Katherine then met her future husband, Edward; who was a German immigrant, living in New York City. After getting married, they lived for many years in Cherry Hill. She is the beloved wife of the late Edward; devoted mother of Denise Gurick Daniel, Robert A. Susan, Richard A. Barbara; loving grandmother of Kristy, Ricky, Brian and Rob and great grandmother of Matthew and Paige. Viewing 12 Noon and Lifetime Tribute Service 1 PM Friday in the McGuinness Funeral Home, 573 Egg Harbor Rd., Washington Twp. Interment Locustwood Memorial Park, Cherry Hill.
