Obituary of Dorothy M. Laws

Laws, Dorothy M. nee Rohrbaugh, 90, of Washington Twp., formerly of Swarthmore, PA. Peacefully passed away on May 29, 2007. Dot was a strong woman who enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest. She was a farm girl born in Heidelberg, PA and raised in Sunbury. As a young woman, Dot set out for the city and attended Nursing School at Presbyterian Hospital in Philadelphia. She continued her career there during the 1940?s until she met the love of her life, John T. Laws. They would be married and settle in Swarthmore, Pa where together, they raised three children. Dot enjoyed painting and gardening; especially tending to her flowers, celebrating the holidays in traditional fashion and watching the Mummers on New Years Day. In more recent years, Dot enjoyed making crafts and ornaments for friends and family to enjoy. After her children were raised, Dot returned to her calling in Healthcare at Prospect Park Nursing Home, where she began as a Registered Nurse and retired as Nursing Supervisor in 1987. Dot will be remembered as a very traditional ?true lady? who was loved by all who knew her. Beloved wife of the late John T. Laws. Loving mother of David W. Patti, John F.A. Patty Laws and Diane L. Alan Smith. Dear sister in law of Anna Rohrbaugh, Grace Crosson and Pat Laws. Cherished grandmother of Sheryl Laws, Kristen Laws, Patricia Mark Murray and John F. Tamara Laws . Great grandmother of 3. Viewing Monday 9 to 10 AM in the McGUINNESS FUNERAL HOME, 573 Egg Harbor Road, Washington Twp. Funeral Services will follow at 10 AM in the Funeral Home.
